DR. MIKE KALB, the most senior staff member, continues into his 18th season with the Pilots. Mike began as the team's statistician in the '01 season and has guided the Pilots and ACBL into the modern baseball era. Mike has been an integral part of the league by setting quality improvement standards for the teams to follow; the Jersey Pilots have been the flagship organization in this process. Mike has found a comfortable role as Pilots General Manager after the passing of longtime owner, GM and good friend Ben Smookler before the days before the 2015 season began.
You can usually spot Mike keeping score at Pilots games and managing the production of the game day operations of the Pilots interns.
Mike lives in Middletown, NJ with his wife of 46 years, Maddy.
AARON "AK" KALB ('02,'04) has taken on various roles in the Pilots organization for the past 7 years, including Assistant Coach, Field Manager, Director of Baseball Operations, Director of Player Procurement. AK will lead the team on the field during the 2018 summer campaign.
AK has been involved at the collegiate and professional levels of baseball for the past 18 years. Most recently, AK held the title as Pitching Coach/Recruiting Coordinator at Oklahoma Panhandle State University where he helped to recruit a roster of 80+ student-athletes. AK also worked at the NJCAA level as a Head and Assistant Coach. AK's collegiete playing career started at Rutgers University and he went on to play professional baseball for 5 seasons. AK was a Pilot in '02 and '04, helping them win their most recent ACBL championship. AK is currently the Head Varsity Baseball Coach and a member of the Mathematics Faculty at Blair Academy.
Kalb currently lives in Blairstown, NJ with his wife Rebekah and his two daughters Nessah and Leah.
